Project: Retail Site Re-Design

The Career Kids website was ready for an overhaul. The Web had changed a lot since its original launch and the company was re-branding themselves from a cutesie kid look to a more professional style that spoke to its high quality products.

Basing the colors on the new logo (created by a separate design firm), I put together a new 3-column home page that organized the presentation of best-selling product and article teasers to draw in site visitors. The site was changed from a liquid layout spanning the entire width of the screen to a centered layout optimized for 1024x768 screen size. That, plus a 2-column template for subpages, greatly improved the overall look and usability of the site.

Enabling Client-Controlled Maintenance

The site has been turned over to the client for maintenance using Adobe Contribute software, so things may look a little different now. I have experience setting things up for clients to do their own updates and also offer retainer services for performing regular changes every month as needed.
